Deb Eck is an internationally exhibited book and installation artist who works primarily with paper, text and thread. Originally from Essex in the UK, she received a BFA from the University at Buffalo and an MA in Visual Culture from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle (UK). She teaches as an adjunct at Jamestown Community College and for many other arts and cultural organizations in Western NY and beyond. She has been the recipient of many grants and awards, including most recently the YWCA’s “Women of Achievement Award” for arts and culture.
“Simple Chain Binding Notebooks”
Both workshops will teach participants how to take everyday items and recycle them with the addition of paper and thread into functional books that can be used for journaling, notes, sketching, or just your shopping list. Both bindings are simple and suitable for a novice with no book binding experience.
